Justin Bieber Jimmy Fallon Video: Singer Talks VMAs And New Album Release Date On “Tonight Show”
Justin Bieber appeared on Wednesday’s “Tonight Show,” where he talked with Jimmy Fallon about his “emotional” VMAs performance, revealed the release date of his upcoming album, sang “Where Are U Now” as a country song, and had a “drum off” with Questlove of The Roots. Watch the video below!
Fallon kicked off the interview by asking Bieber about how he cried at the end of his VMAs performance. The singer explained that it was “overwhelming” for him because he didn’t know what to expect since the “last time I was at an awards show, I was booed.” Bieber went on to say that he “worked hard” both on the album and “being the man I’ve become,” and was “putting everything on the line” with his VMAs performance, so when he succeeded, his tears of joy were “authentic.”
Bieber then acknowledged his mistakes from the past, and said part of the problem was that he used to surround himself with “knuckleheads,” but after he got rid of them, he eventually figured out what is and isn’t appropriate behavior.
Fallon then noted that Bieber’s new song, “What Do You Mean?” is the number one song on iTunes and in 89 countries around the world. Joking about the countries where the song isn’t on the top of the charts, Bieber said, “Lithuania, what’s going on?” Bieber was going to reveal the release date of his new album but actually forgot the date, so Fallon reminded him it’s November 13.
After that, Bieber treated the audience to a country-style rendition of his song, “Where Are U Now.” Fallon also brought up how the last time Bieber was his guest (five years before on “Late Night”), the singer and Questlove had a “drum off” in which The Biebs got crushed. That prompted Bieber to call for a rematch on Wednesday’s show. This time around, Bieber fared much better in the “drum off.”
