Justin Bieber: “I Won’t Cancel” Orlando Concert
Justin Bieber says he “won’t cancel” his upcoming Orlando concert, despite last weekend’s mass shooting and the murder of Christina Grimmie.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Grimmie was fatally shot last Friday night as she signed autographs following a concert at The Plaza Live. Then, early Sunday morning, 49 people were killed when a gunman opened fire inside Pulse nightclub. The deadly incidents both took place in Orlando, just miles apart.
Bieber’s “Purpose World Tour” is slated to stop in Orlando in exactly two weeks. The show is scheduled for June 30 at the Amway Center. And on Thursday, Bieber told fans he has every intention of fulfilling the commitment.
“For all those asking no I won’t cancel the Orlando show. I stand with Orlando in support,” he tweeted. “Love you Orlando! #OrlandoStrong.”
While some outlets falsely claimed Bieber commented on Grimmie’s death a few days ago, he did post on Facebook about the Pulse shooting. On Sunday, hours after the tragedy took place, Bieber wrote, “Sorry to everyone suffering today.” He also shared a comment from manager Scooter Braun, who had posted about the need to take action in the wake of yet another gun-fueled massacre.
Bieber himself went on to add, “Let’s make a difference. Love.” The superstar will likely be preaching that advice when he takes the stage in Orlando later this month.
