Justin Bieber Breaks The Beatles Billboard Hot 100 Record
For the new chart data to be dated December 5, Bieber has a whopping 17 songs on the Billboard Hot 100. That breaks The Beatles’ record of 14, which was set in 1964. Drake actually tied that amount twice this year, in March and October.
But now the title belongs solely to Bieber. The songs are all from his new album, Purpose, which was released earlier this month. And adding to the milestone is a second record: Thirteen of the titles are making their debut on the chart, the highest amount ever.
And that’s still not all. Of the 17 songs on the Hot 100, three are in the top 5. That ties a record previously set by both The Beatles and 50 Cent. It all just adds to the monster accomplishment that is Purpose, which, as Gossip Cop previously reported, became Bieber’s sixth number one album, beating One Direction’s Made In The A.M. to the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Bieber’s longtime manager Scooter Braun (picture above at the American Music Awards on Sunday) celebrated the Hot 100 news on Instagram Monday, writing, “BOOM!! #PURPOSE @justinbieber :) thank you to everyone involved and everyone who supported this creation and release.” Bieber himself has yet to comment on breaking The Beatles’ record.
