Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend” Video Shatters YouTube Record

Justin Bieber‘s popularity doesn’t seem to be waning anytime soon.

Within just 24 hours of the singer releasing the full video for his single “Boyfriend,” the clip racked up a record-breaking number of views on YouTube.

The video, which quickly went viral after its premiere Thursday night, received more than 8 million views in its first full day of release.

That’s nearly double what previous record-holder Rihanna received for her “Where Have You Been” video, which just dropped last week.

As of Saturday, the number of “Boyfriend” views had increased to more than 9 million.

Of course, Bieber is no stranger to YouTube success.

The video site is how the young singer was discovered and later shot to worldwide fame.

    guess i’m glad to be born in late 80′s so in my teenage years i listened to real music and not THIS. music is getting worse and worse with years. also glad i don’t live in america as such stuff like bieber, nicki minaj, gaga, rihanna and other bubble pink/brainless pop stars are not so popular and overhyped in europe
