Justin Bieber Wins Male Artist Of The Year At iHeartRadio Music Awards (VIDEO)
Justin Bieber won Male Artist of the Year at the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday. Check out the video below!
Previously, the top prize was simply “Artist of the Year.” But this year, for the third annual ceremony, the category was broken into “Female Artist of the Year” and “Male Artist of the Year.” That allowed two stars to share the night’s ultimate honor.
Bieber’s big win came after he performed “Company” earlier in the ceremony. In his acceptance speech, the superstar said, “First of all I want to thank iHeart. I want to thank my wonderful manager, Scooter. I want to thank my family at home. I really miss my little brother and sister. They’re growing up so fast.”
“Most of all I want to thank my fans. You guys have been sticking by me 100 percent. You guys are unbelievable,” Bieber went on. “And God. I’ve experienced some tough times. I think all of us do. But it’s about your growth and learning.”
Taylor Swift was the 2015 “Artist of the Year” winner, as Gossip Cop reported at the time, so this was a bit of a change for her as she now took home “Female Artist of the Year.” She also attended this time with best friend and fellow “Female Artist of the Year” nominee Selena Gomez. But Gomez appeared absolutely ecstatic when her BFF won, and went on to receive the “Biggest Triple Threat” award herself.
Bieber also shared “Best Dance Song” with Diplo and Skrillex for “Where Are U Now,” and his Beliebers helped him win “Best Fan Army.” Watch video of Bieber’s “Male Artist of the Year” speech below!
