Julie Klausner: Zendaya Hates Jews, Too Thin To Be “Role Model”
Zendaya was the victim of an unprovoked Twitter feud on Sunday when comedienne Julie Klausner attacked the young actress for being too thin and allegedly hating Jews after the Disney star thanked her fans’ parents during an acceptance speech at the Kids’ Choice Awards for “allowing me to be a role model for your children.” As Gossip Cop noted on Saturday, Zendaya won the Favorite Kids Show Female Star for her role on “K.C. Undercover,” and after winning the award, she said onstage, “Making positive programming for young people is so important to me… To all the parents out there, thank you for allowing me to be a role model for your children.”
Klausner, who starred on the Hulu show “Difficult People,” out of the blue went after Zendaya in a series of tweets before the actress defended her. It began with Klausner questioning Zendaya’s weight and “role model” status by writing on Twitter, “And thinspo model for your impressionable tweens.” Then, referencing Zendaya’s dreadlocks being insulted by Giuliani Rancic at the 2015 Oscars, Klausner next tweeted, “Zendaya’s ultimate retort to Giuliana is starving herself down to the size of her elbowz.” “You don’t have to have an eating disorder to attend the Kids’ Choice Awards… but it helps!” Klausner added in a subsequent tweet.
Still on her rant, the comedienne explained on Twitter, “I will never stop criticizing celebs who perpetuate dangerous beauty standards for a generation of girls who grow up thinking they’re fat” She further stated, “I’m concerned with the generation of girls who aspire to look like Zendaya. I do not worry about Zendaya’s health or care whether she eats.”
Eventually, Zendaya responded to Klausner tweets. Alluding to how she dealt with Rancic’s insult with an extended Twitter message, the young actress-singer replied to Klausner, “Do you find this funny? I will write another paragraph to educate you swell #youreallywannabenext?” Zendaya then urged her followers, “Now… everyone go look in the mirror their beautiful body, and love that sh-t #thickgirlswinning #skinnygirlswinning #weallwinning.”
Klausner continued her diatribe, and even sparred on Twitter with Zendaya’s supporters. Among her other tweets were “Zendaya’s threat to write another paragraph is more dread inducing than Kim Jong Un’s fronting about the bomb he has.” As she wrapped up her essentially one-sided Twitter feud, Klausner posed a message that read, “Let’s not fight. Here’s my olive branch to Zendaya fans – can we just all agree that 1) all women are beautiful and 2) Zendaya hates Jews?”
For the record, Zendaya has never expressed anything resembling an anti-Jewish sentiment. And Klausner’s tweet seemingly doesn’t resemble good humor, either.
