Julianne Hough Not Returning As “Dancing With The Stars” Judge For Season 22
Julianne Hough is not returning as a “Dancing with the Stars” judge for season 22, it was announced on Wednesday.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Hough, a former winning pro on the ABC ballroom competition, served on the judges’ panel during seasons 20 and 21 last year. She now tells People, “I will miss being on the panel for season 22, but have a lot of exciting stuff coming that I look forward to sharing.
“The pro dancers, producers and crew at DWTS will always be my family,” continues Hough. She adds, “I promise it’s not the last you’ll see of me in the ballroom.” Indeed, “DWTS” executive producer Rob Wade tells the magazine, “Julianne will always be a part of the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ family and we hope to see her back in the ballroom in the future.”
As for the new season, former head judge Len Goodman, who took last season off, will take a seat at the table again, rejoining veterans Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba. Gossip Cop confirmed with a rep for the show on Tuesday that there is no confirmed date yet for the cast reveal, so it’s unclear at this point which pros will be back. That includes Hough’s brother Derek, the series’ winningiest pro, who has not indicated whether he plans to return after winning season 21 last December with Bindi Irwin.
