Julianna Margulies Has Chicken Pox
Julianna Margulies has come down with the chicken pox, forcing her to cancel her own book release party, Gossip Cop confirms.
It’s unclear when or how Margulies contracted the ailment, which causes itchy, red bumps all over the body. But due to the illness, a New York City cocktail party slated for Thursday night has been called off. The actress had intended to celebrate her new children’s book, Three Magic Balloons, which officially comes out next week.
While “The Good Wife” has thankfully already wrapped filming, Margulies’ case of the chicken pox actually comes just days before the series finale. The final episode of the hit CBS show will air on Sunday. The star joined her cast mates at a special event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art just last week to mark the milestone (see photo above).
It’s not clear if the cast also intends to hold a private viewing party this weekend, or if Margulies would even be able to attend, anyway. Chicken pox, though more common in children, is extremely contagious. And as an adult, the infection can lead to more serious complications.
Margulies’ rep declined to comment further when asked about her condition. Gossip Cop wishes the actress a speedy recovery.
