Joshua Ledet got one of the only standing ovations on Wednesday’s “American Idol.”

Ledet repeatedly wowed the judges with his performances, in which he tackled Etta James’ “I’d Rather Go Blind,” John Lennon’s “Imagine,” and Mary J. Blige’s “No More Drama.”

But it was Ledet’s take on “I’d Rather Go Blind” that got the judges on their feet.

    I don’t know…I think he did TOO MUCH with the “I’d rather go blind” song. It wasn’t my favorite. I think that little girl from XFactor performed it MUCH better–she actually brought tears to my eyes, there was so much emotion. Joshua seemed to be focusing so much on the hitting the notes that he let the emotion slip….I’m usually a fan, but this wasn’t his best…

    I also thought of Rachel Crow as he was singing and felt her rendition was far better. Joshua is talented, but he’s too “over the top” for me. I don’t want to feel like I’m at a revival every time I hear someone sing.

    Phillip got a standing ovation also. I lose my concentration with Joshua when he starts screeching and doing that church jumping. I totally lose interest in the song when he starts that. I think he will be voted off tonight. I believe Jessica won over America last night.
