Josh Duggar’s Wife Anna Asks Fans To Pray After “Most Difficult Year”
Josh Duggar’s wife Anna is speaking out about their “difficult year,” and confirming reports she visited him in rehab over Christmas.
As Gossip Cop reported, Josh checked into an in-patient rehab facility in Illinois last August after admitting he had cheated on Anna and was addicted to pornography. The scandal came on the heels of the “19 Kids and Counting” star previously confessing to molesting five minors, including two of his sisters, when he was a teenager. Anna has opened up a little about her heartbreak on the “Jill & Jessa: Counting On” specials, but now she’s giving a new update via the family’s official website.
“Many have asked how I am doing. So many have asked that its actually humbling and touching. 2015 was the most difficult year of my life. Yet, amazingly I’ve found that in my own life crisis God has drawn near to me (‘He’s near to the brokenhearted’ Psalms 34:18) and my faith has been more precious to me than ever before,” she says in a statement featured in a blog post on Saturday.
Anna goes on, “Just recently I visited Josh. It was an important step on a long difficult road. I want to thank all of you for your prayers and your messages of hope. I can never express how your kindness and prayers have brought encouragement when I needed it most — outpacing the grief and discouragement at every turn. I trust that God will continue to show His love and tenderness toward us and bring beauty from ashes — somehow — as only He can do.”
“Please continue to pray for me, Josh and our children,” she concludes. Josh and Anna have four children, the youngest of whom was born last July in the midst of the molestation turmoil and before he was exposed as an Ashley Madison user. It’s unclear for how much longer Josh plans to stay in rehab. He and Anna are pictured above nearly a year ago, in February 2015. Gossip Cop will continue to have updates.
