Josh Duggar Breaks Silence To Wish Son Happy Birthday (PHOTO/VIDEO)
Josh Duggar broke his silence late Monday, tweeting for the first time since it was revealed he molested five girls when he was a teen. His parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar also posted on their own Twitter account for the first time since the scandal broke. Both messages were in celebration of Josh’s own son, who was turning 4. See photos and video below.
On May 20, the Duggars used their “@duggarfam” Twitter account to wish a happy birthday to son-in-law Ben Seewald, who is married to their daughter Jessa Duggar. The very next day, Josh issued an apology for the sexual assaults he committed when he was 14. Jessa was later revealed to be among the victims, along with sister Jill, two other sisters, and a babysitter. Similarly, Josh himself last tweeted from “@joshduggar” on May 19, then posted his statement on May 21, before retreating from all forms of public communication.
As the scandal unfolded, both Twitter accounts remained silent, even though they regularly updated the pages prior to the sexual abuse becoming public. Now nearly a month later, they all returned to the social networking service in honor of Michael Duggar, one of Josh’s sons. Jim Bob and Michelle’s post featured a picture of them with Michael as they hold a hand-drawn sign that reads, “Happy 4th Birthday Michael We Love You!”
The Duggars tweeted along with the pic, “Happy 4th Birthday to our first grandson, Michael! #HappyBirthday.” Unlike with Twitter, the Duggars have sporadically been keeping their Facebook updated, and posted a message to Michael there as well. “This boy is 4 years old today! He is clever and he is kind. There was a time we could not imagine anything as amazing than being parents,” they wrote. “Now, we are grandparents too and we absolutely love everything about it! Happy, happy birthday Michael! Grandma and Grandpa Duggar love you so much!”
As for Josh, he tweeted a photo of Michael, and wrote, “Happy 4th Birthday Michael James! #Big4 #HappyBirthday #Michael.” And he broke his Facebook silence, too, posting, “So glad to be in Arkansas celebrating Michael’s 4th birthday — we love you Mikey! #HappyBirthday.” He also shared a video of Michael blowing out his birthday candles while surrounded by his siblings and cousins.
Michael is the second oldest child of Josh and his wife, Anna. They are also parents to Mackynzie and Marcus, and Anna is currently pregnant with their fourth child. As Gossip Cop reported, moving trucks were spotted outside his Washington, D.C. area home earlier this month, as it’s believed they are moving back to Arkansas full-time since he resigned his position with the Family Research Council. Check out the Duggars’ new posts below, and tell us what you think of their return to social media.
