When Christian Bale suits up for Batman 3, will he be taking on Joseph Gordon-Levitt?

Last month, rumors first surfaced that Gordon-Levitt was “in talks” to play The Riddler in the highly anticipated sequel.

Gossip Cop reported the facts — that the actor had not even been approached.

Today Batman buzz is building once again, with reports that The Riddler has definitely been chosen as the next film’s villain, and that Gordon-Levitt is, according to experts like Perez Hilton, “shortlisted” for the role.

The new rumor apparently comes from a claim that Gordon-Levitt’s name is listed as “interested” alongside the character in a purported studio “casting grid.”

Once again, however, there is no actual substance to the report that Gordon-Levitt is set to be The Riddler.

A rep for the actor tells Gossip Cop he still hasn’t been approached about the movie, and that the only thing Gordon-Levitt has ever “confirmed” is that he would love to work again with director Christopher Nolan, who cast Gordon-Levitt in Inception.

Whether he’s “interested” or not, there have been no talks yet and he’s not on any official short list for the Riddler role.
