Joseph Gordon-Levitt, staying in downtown New York for The Dark Knight Rises, happened to be online early Tuesday morning when police evicted Occupy Wall Street protesters from Zuccotti Park.

The actor, also interested in documentary film, grabbed a camera and headed over to the scene.

He explains, “I don’t wanna get arrested, but [the protesters] are talking about recording.”

Below is the raw footage Gordon-Levitt shot in the early hours of Tuesday morning, as he walked alongside marchers and asked them about the raid on the park and their overall experience.
