Jon Voight At Donald Trump Inauguration Concert: Watch Speech (VIDEO)
As Gossip Cop reported, one of the president-elect’s inaugural events leading up to Friday’s swearing-in ceremony was a big bash with live music, military bands, and fireworks. A few of the artists who performed included Toby Keith, 3 Doors Down, Lee Greenwood, The Piano Guys, RaviDrums, The Frontmen of Country, and Tim Rushlow & His Big Band. But Voight had the distinction of delivering the opening address to honor the incoming president.
“This is some day,” the actor said as he took the podium in front of a massive crowd at the Lincoln Memorial. “Dear friends, fellow Americans. I’m so happy to be here to welcome you all to the inauguration of the 45th president of the United States, Donald J. Trump.” Voight continued, “We have all been witness to a very grueling year-and-a-half for the president-elect.”
The actor went on to express that there’s been “a barrage of propaganda that left us all breathless with anticipation not knowing if God could reverse all the negative lies against Mr. Trump, whose only desire was to make America great again.” Voight added, “He certainly didn’t need this job. And yes, God answered all our prayers.”
“We will be part of history,” continued the actor. “All of us. And President Lincoln, who sits here with us, is surely smiling.” Voight went on to describe Trump as “an honest and good man,” adding, “Let us rejoice in knowing that from this time on, we will see a renewed America.” Watch the full speech in the video below.
