Jon Hamm Slams Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton for “F**king Idiot” Culture

Truth rating: 10

Jon Hamm is not too big a fan of Kim Kardashian or Paris Hilton.

In the new issue of Elle UK, the “Mad Men” star unloads on the reality TV stars, whom he cites as examples of a culture in which “stupidity” is honored.

“We’re at a place where the idea of being ‘elite’ is somehow considered a negative,” Hamm tells the magazine.

He continues, “Whether it’s Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f**king idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you’re rewarded significantly.”

“Incuriousness has become cool… It’s celebrated. It doesn’t make sense to me,” adds Hamm.

The actor is not the first big name to blast Kardashian in recent months.

Daniel Craig used the same term – “f**king idiot” – to describe the Kardashians in British GQ, while Jonah Hill labeled them a “super disgusting” part of our culture during an interview with The Huffington Post.

Thank you, Mr. Hamm. Please don’t back down from these comments when Kim’s Mommy cries fowl, because you know it’s coming.

  • Dave

Please include the Jersey Shore cast too while we are at it!

One question….. WHO IS JON HAMM? Not yelling just asking a question that had to make a point. And my point is… Well, you have the question so that is my point.

  • Anonymous

    Bravo, Jon, Bravo

  • Sky

    The kar”trash”ians. Hamm is correct.

  • Timetopass

harsh but not off the mark by any means. Its time people stood up & said something more often. Enough is enough with all this stupidity.

  • Ceevie

Extremely famous actor. Stars in Mad Men, one of the most successful shows of the day and was in Bridesmaids, one of the most successful movies of last year. I think people on celeb sites tend to know who he is.

  • People are Full of Crap

You’re an idiot. If you stopped watching trashy reality shows you’d know exactly who he is.

Take your words and EAT THEM YOU IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anonymous

    Thanks I suppose.

  • People are Full of Crap

Bitter and angry much? Btw, the over use of exclamation marks and the CAPS confirms you are in fact, an idiot.

  • People are Full of Crap

Maybe you should re-read your own posts. You’re not exactly a person with delicate manners.

  • Chloe

I totally agree. The Kardashians are such an easy targets, but if you want to talk real idiots…The Jersey Shore win hands down.

Look in the mirror and that idiot that is looking at you is you so really grow up and shut up. And ur name just explains it all that you need a lot of growing up to do.

  • Brenda

YOU have just provided a perfect example of what he is talking about.

  • taj

Thank You Jon Hamm!! Love him all the more now! Whenever I hear any mention of that greedy, money sucking family I turn it off and I never buy anything associated with them. Bar none the most repulsive, selfish, disgusting family of all time. They don’t care one wit what anyone thinks of them. Ever. As long as they use their brand and social media skills to sell, sell, sell they’re fine with any reputation they have. SO GROSS!

  • OhISee

I, personally, am not interested in trainwrecks. I wouldn’t stop and gawk at an actual one, let alone turn the channel to watch one. Read his comments weeks ago but still love it (& it’s definitely worth repeating!).

  • Laarni

Ah geeze, don’t blame the Kardashians. It is the media that keep pushing this trash into us. As mentioned, refuse to buy any of their products, refuse to watch their stupid reality show, refuse to even read anything about them. I never did, I always skip anything to do with them. I just went in here to read what John had to say about them. About time that we don’t oblige the media, better still protest for glorifying such clan.

  • oooh

If you would read more then just the Headline you would know who he is wouldn’t you? Being nasty does not make you grown up.

  • Anonymous

Look here for whoever is reading this. I don’t care who you are. I am nice but don’t piss me off and 99.99 percent of you guys piss me off.

  • Anonymous

    Shut up bitch

I say if you’re not interested, don’t watch. Besides, blame people(not gonna lie, like me lol) for watching it. But I wouldn’t say that they’re stupid, they’re pretty smart for cashing in on their fame. I would! Calling out someone because you’re distaste for them makes me lose respect for you.

  • Gi

    Agreed Mr. Hamm

Sorry but if parents would actually teach their children about good morals, and respect, then no one would be complaining about the Kardashians.Be your own kids role model. Parents need to teach their kids, that Reality TV is not “real.”

Of course you didn’t know who Jon Hamm is, Strawberry — you made everybody’s case in point.

Kudos to Jon for saying what a lot of actors feel. These tedious and silly reality shows are taking work away from talented actors, writers and directors. It’s about time those in the entertainment industry are speaking out!

  • JD45

    Love Him.
Love the fact that REAL actors are voicing their opinions on the BS of this country and what we are allowing our children to call talent.

  • nono

More than likely people that watch the Kardashians don’t watch Mad Men. To each his own.

  • CL

Vacuous and self-important. Shame on us for giving the Kardashian scripted reality spectacle of conspicuous consumption some sort of value or credibility. As for the Jersey Shore gang: what have they got going for them? Of course they’d be happy to get paid for getting drunk, fighting and being idiots in front of a camera crew. Free drinks and some sort of belief that they are important for something that is non-existent is an opportunity that will probably not come to them again.

  • Kay in Macon

so, hit the road ,Jack. This is as polite as is possible to one who started the rudeness!

  • Kay in Macon

Must be either one of the Kardashians, or Paris, trying to be incognito., and failing miserably. You go Jon Hamm.

  • Anonymous

    I agree with you.

  • Anonymous

I’ve watched maybe two episodes of the Kardashians. Not my kind of show. Jersey Shore shouldn’t have dragged on any longer than one season.

  • Anonymous

And I can tell u right now I didn’t start the rudeness. I just asked a question and got a snarky answer to it. Something that I can not stand is snarkiness. Maybe if it was written differently it would be a different story. Other than that I snapped and I am not sorry for that.

  • Anonymous

Just because I don’t know who Jon Hamm is does not mean I watch The Kardashians. Don’t judge people who don’t know who he is. I never seen his movies.
