UPDATE: 8:17PM

According to Jon Gosselin’s attorney, personal items were stolen and slashed in his apartment.

Additionally, the lawyer stated, “The Police Department seized a note that had been affixed to Jon’s bedroom dresser by a butcher knife that was speared through the note into the wooden dresser.” His attorney, however did not elaborate on what was written in the note.  

Gosselin’s lawyer also stated, “Jon’s television, CD player, coffee maker, a Nintendo Wii game, dishes, pots and pans were burglarized from his apartment, and Jon’s shoes, shirts, luggage, bed, curtain, rugs and other furnishings in the apartment were slashed, most likely by the same butcher knife that affixed the note to his dresser. Sadly, along with the trashing of Jon’s apartment, a Ming vase, believed to be over 100 years old that was a family heirloom, was smashed to pieces.”

A source close to Jon Gosselin confirms to Gossip Cop that the former reality star’s apartment on New York’s Upper West Side was broken into.

Gosselin saw he was “burglarized,” says the source, when returning to his apartment two hours ago. We’re told Gosselin called the police and immediately left the scene, so that he would not taint the evidence, if any, left behind.

As we’re reporting, detectives are currently combing through the apartment to look for leads. It is unclear, as of now, what was stolen or what the motive was for the break-in.
