Johnny Winter, Blues Icon, Dies at 70
Johnny Winter, the legendary blues guitarist, has died.
He was 70.
The musician died in his Zurich hotel room on Wednesday, although no official cause of death has been confirmed.
A guitar maestro known for his high-energy performances and collaborations with icons like Muddy Waters, Winter rose to prominence in the late 1960s and 1970s with albums like The Progressive Blues Experiment.
Rolling Stone and other publications would eventually name him one of history’s great guitarists.
