Johnny Depp Parodies Donald Trump In “Art Of The Deal” Movie For Funny Or Die
Funny Or Die explains, “In 1988 Donald Trump wrote, directed, and starred in a made-for-TV movie based on his bestselling book The Art of the Deal. When the film was bumped because Monday Night Football ran long, the furious Trump pulled the movie, obscuring it from the general public for decades. Now Funny Or Die has unearthed this delightfully dated masterpiece for the world to see.”
Of course, this version doesn’t actually star Trump. Instead Depp is heavily made-up to look like the business mogul-turned-presidential candidate. Michaela Watkins appears as then-wife Ivana Trump. Other big names featured include Henry Winkler, Patton Oswalt, Alfred Molina, Andy Richter, Jack McBrayer, Jacob Tremblay, Stephen Merchant, Paul Scheer, and… Alf.
Ron Howard gives a super-serious introduction, explaining how the “masterpiece” film was shelved and then lost, until he found it at a yard sale and wrestled a woman named Jenny to get the only known copy. The fake film is actually a whopping 50 minutes long, but a trailer highlights some of the spoofiest scenes.
Funny or Die actually premiered the clips just hours after Trump won the New Hampshire primary on the Republican side. As his campaign continues, expect more parodies to follow. Check out the videos below!
