Johnny Depp received the Generation Awards at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards.

Instead of merely accepting the honor, Depp strapped on a guitar and rocked out with The Black Keys.

The actor is no stranger to live musical performances, of course, and this rendition of “Gold On The Ceiling” was very well received.

After the song, Depp was presented with the award and accepted it with a brief, self-deprecating speech.
