John Stamos Enters Rehab For Substance Abuse, Pulls Out Of Emmy Nominations
John Stamos has entered rehab for substance abuse. The actor is seeking treatment in a residential program, Gossip Cop confirms.
The news comes just hours after it was revealed he pulled out of the Emmy nominations announcements due to a scheduling conflict. As Gossip Cop previously reported, Stamos was slated to be a co-presenter with Uzo Aduba at the event, which is scheduled for next Thursday. He’s been replaced by Cat Deeley.
Just last month, as Gossip Cop reported, Stamos was arrested on June 12 after passersbys called 911 to report a person driving erratically in Beverly Hills. Cops initially believed he was having some kind of medical emergency, and brought him to the hospital. He was later arrested for DUI at the medical facility.
The arrest made headlines worldwide, and led both his name and the name of his famous “Full House” character, Uncle Jesse, to become trending topics on Twitter. The next day, Stamos used Twitter to address the situation. “Thanks to everyone for their love & support. I’m home & well. Very appreciative of the BHPD & Cedars for their care,” he tweeted.
Stamos remained active on social media after the incident, but hasn’t tweeted since June 23. He has been ordered to appear in court on September 11. His new Fox comedy, “Grandfathered,” is slated to premiere on September 29.
Stamos is also producing “Fuller House,” the Netflix “Full House” sequel, on which he’ll have a recurring role for the 2016 series. The rehab news was first reported by People. Gossip Cop will have updates.
