Hours after a 24-year-old woman and another defendant were found guilty of conspiracy for trying to extort nearly $700,000 from John Stamos, the actor took to Twitter to applaud the verdict and slam the duo.

“I am shocked and perplexed how individuals could fabricate so many false stories in an effort to defend a crime,” Stamos said of Allison Coss‘ attempt to squeeze money from him in exchange for not selling supposedly compromising photos to the tabloids.

(For the record, Stamos and the FBI both stated that the pictures in question never existed.)

The former “Full House” star went on to say that in the time leading up to the trial, and during the proceedings, he “endured countless false accusations about my behavior and appropriateness,” which included partying with strippers and cocaine, and having a rendezvous with Coss, who was just a high school student when they met in 2004.

“The allegations made regarding an inappropriate relationship are completely untrue,” Stamos said, adding there were “no drugs, no nudity and nothing sexual in nature involved in my friendship with this woman.”

Stamos admitted while testifying earlier this week that he and Coss had stayed in touch after their initial meeting, but he called the FBI once she demanded $680,000 for the allegedly embarrassing photos, which never materialized.

Coss now faces up to five years in prison.

“I’m grateful these two criminals have been found guilty,” Stamos’ statement concluded, “and I plan to go home to be with my family and friends and prepare to get back to work.”
