    Dr Drew should be ashamed.

why should Dr Drew be ashamed? he tried to help him

    RIP.

Not sure Dr Drew helps anyone….beginning to think he is just there for the ratings. Boy I hope drugs get legalized….after all what harm are they?

  • Guest

No, celeb rehab was a disgusting show. dr Drew Took advantage of down and out washed up celebs for ratings and money.

  • Regina1180

“Dr” Drew had helped nobody. Most of the people that he featured on his show either suffered relapses or ended up dead.

I don’t agree… Washed up celebs? The celebs he has on the show are the only ones willing to go on it. Obviously someone in the spotlight isn’t going to fess up to being a drug addict and go on his show.
And I think he has helped people. Drug addiction and Alcoholism isn’t something you just FIX. Just because you go into rehab doesn’t mean you are cured. Many people relapse, not just these celebs. It’s something you work at, and something you are going to struggle with your whole life. If you slip up or don’t follow the steps, it’s not your Dr’s fault.
If you relapse, you check yourself back into rehab.

If you are serious about your sobriety, you check yourself into a legitimate rehab facility. you don’t go on TV and try to continue to be a celeb. And since Dr. Drew enables this kind of behavior, I have absolutely no respect for him as a man or a doctor.

I agree with guest, recovery has to be a life long habit. The average person out there has not the foggiest clue how hard it is to overcome addiction or what recovery entails. Perhaps if Dr. Drew hadn’t offered “TV” rehab, none of those on his show would have gotten any help at all. If anything, all of that exposure creates more accountability.

  • Guest

Why wouldn’t you go on there as a celeb? It’s a two-for … You get paid for being on the show and free rehab?

  • Brihackums

I like Dr. Drew. I don’t see anything wrong with him trying to help people on television. On television we are shown how badly drugs can affect someone not only emotionally but also physically. One will never know how it feels to be hooked on drugs and may not think they are an addict or have prOblems until someone points it out and Dr. Drew and Celebrity Rehab did. It brought drug addiction to a general audience that otherwise people may not have even known about. No one says anything about The television show: Intervention. But since someone died and Dr. Drew has celebrities it must be for ratings sake. These people signed up to show people the struggle. To prOve that people do relapse, they do get the help they need, and possibly they sometimes die. Once you leave rehab you aren’t cured. It’s a everyday struggle that people live with everyday.

    I agree!!!

Dr. Drew doesn’t need money…and his profession is selfless, it takes an amazing individual to do what he does. Your comment is disgusting!!!! not the show!!! drugs are disgusting!!! Dr. Drew has devoted his life to helping people, you should be ashamed for even saying that about someone!

  • heatherrose

thats normal with a 4% chance of recovery…. 96% either die or relapse…at least dr drew cares about the 4% that most people would give up on knowing that recovery is nearly impossible…

  • heatherrose

You sound really awful criticizing anyone in the profession of helping other people, you should have nothing but respect for people who take on such thankless careers. Dr. Drew puts himself out there to reach as many people as he can, I highly doubt his priorities are to exploit drug addicts on tv…..you missed the point…
