Carrie Underwood and more country stars are mourning the death of singer Joey Feek, who sadly died on Friday. As Gossip Cop reported, Feek’s husband Rory Feek announced the tragic news in a blog post, writing that his wife was now in heaven following a long cancer battle.
Carrie Underwood was among the first to pay tribute to the late singer on Twitter. “Praying for the family & friends of Joey Feek. A beautiful soul moved into heaven today. A beautiful legacy she left behind,” Underwood’s tweet read.
Blake Shelton wrote, “So sad to hear about Joeys passing.” Brad Paisley also paid Feek tribute, writing, “God bless you Joey & prayers for Rory and family tonight. There’s never been a more courageous battle or inspiring example. Heaven awaits.”
Country music legend Charlie Daniels wrote, “One of God’s children has gone home Rest in peace Joey Deepest condolences to Rory and the family.” Chris Young posted, “Thoughts, prayers, and condolences to the Feek family. Have played shows with Joey and Rory before and it’s so sad to lose her amazing voice.” Meanwhile, Jana Kramer posted a tribute on Instagram. “Rest in peace Joey. #heavyheart I only had the pleasure of meeting them both a few times at award shows and I wish I got to know them better. Music organizations and country music institutions also paid tribute to Feek. The Recording Academy wrote, “We are so very saddened to learn of the passing of Joey Feek. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and fans today.” The Grand Ole Opry stated, “Our hearts go out to the family of Joey Feek. She was a beautiful person inside and out and will truly be missed.”
As Gossip Cop reported earlier, Feek’s husband recounted his wife’s last moments in his bog post Friday evening. “We were gathered around her, holding hands and praying.. my precious bride breathed her last.
