Jimmy Kimmel Holds Pumpkin Carving Competition For Halloween (VIDEO)
Jimmy Kimmel got into the Halloween spirit and challenged Cousin Sal, Aunt Chippy, Guillermo and his friend Yehya to a pumpkin carving competition for a hilarious segment that aired on Thursday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
For the contest, Kimmel enlisted professional pumpkin carver Ray Villafane to help guide the group and judge their finished pumpkins. Each person had to secretly pick the name of a famous celebrity out of a hat and then make a pumpkin look like that person. Whoever made his or her pumpkin look most like the chosen celebrity would win the coveted title of “Lord of the Gourd.”
Aunt Chippy was not pleased when she found out the rules of the contest. “Oh, this is bullsh*t!” she yelled. You guys know how to do all this sh*t!” She soon admitted to the camera that she had never carved a pumpkin in her life. Cousin Sal believed the competition was rigged, noting, “Guillermo has the unfair advantage of looking like a pumpkin.” Kimmel’s sidekick spent most of the competition trying to get Villafane to do his work for him, “You know what?” said Guillermo. “I didn’t want to do anything, so I tricked Ray into doing my job. He is not too smart, but he does a good job.”
In the end, no one was able to recognize Cousin Sal’s replica of Albert Einstein or Guillermo’s pumpkin version of John Lennon. Kimmel made a convincing Kim Jong Un out of his gourd, and Yehya did a good job of honoring Snoop Dogg. But Aunt Chippy surprised everyone with her spot-on Whoopi Goldberg carving, which won her the title “Lord of the Gourd.” Aunt Chippy was shocked by the results. “I was so surprised. I actually won,” she declared. “I never beat Jimmy and Sal. Never. Never. Never.” You have to see what they did with their pumpkins after the contest!
