Jimmy Kimmel hasn’t always seen eye to eye with Jay Leno, but he put aside their differences to wish the departing “Tonight Show” host well on Thursday, hours before Leno’s last broadcast.

“Issues aside, 20 years at #1 is a remarkable achievement. Congratulations and best wishes to @jayleno on an incredible run,” Kimmel tweeted.

Leno is leaving after two decades at the helm of the country’s most popular late-night talk show.

Of course, the last time Leno left “Tonight” — to let Conan O’Brien take over briefly, before returning — Kimmel was less than kind.

The younger host has actually made his distaste for Leno known on multiple occasions.

As Leno bids farewell for good, though, Kimmel has nothing but congratulations for the comedy icon.
