Jimmy Kimmel is hosting the 2016 Emmys, it was announced on Monday.

Kimmel broke the news himself, tweeting, “I am hosting the #Emmys on Sunday Sept 18. Until then, have a great summer.” The “Jimmy Kimmel Live” host was said to be in talks for the gig over the last few weeks. The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards are slated to air on his home network, ABC.

This will be Kimmel’s second time emceeing the event. He previously served as host for the 64th Emmys in 2012, the last time ABC has rights to the broadcast. Now he steps in for Andy Samberg, who hosted last year when the event aired on FOX.

Kimmel says in a statement released by ABC, “I am excited to be hosting the Emmys again. I have a feeling I’m going to be great.” Entertainment president Channing Dungey has high hopes, too. She says, “Jimmy Kimmel is the consummate showman. With Kimmel at the helm, expect to be at the edge of your seat for a bigger, bolder, and better-than-ever Emmy event.”

Nominations for this year’s Emmys will be announced July 14. Kimmel will likely further discuss the gig on Monday night’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” The comedian is pictured above at the 2012 ceremony.
