Jimmy Fallon Staffer Surprised By Military Husband On “Tonight Show” – WATCH VIDEO!
Karina Kabalan, a veteran herself, works on the NBC late-night program as a producer. And though she knew Johnson was on the week-ending show to promote his upcoming “Rock The Troops” special, she had no idea what he had in store for her. Towards the end of his interview, the actor announced, “There’s one more thing I wanted to do before I left tonight, Jimmy. So, I would love to give back to a military family that’s actually here in the audience.”
He then had Fallon follow him through the audience and backstage into the control room. “Where’s Karina?” the former wrestler asked, prompting her to immediately exclaim, “What is happening right now?!” Kabalan appeared to tear up as she continued to ask what was going on.
Johnson told her, “I heard that you met your husband when you were both deployed in Iraq. Ah, okay. And your husband’s name is Todd, and he’s a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. You guys have been living apart for the last year and half because he’s 5,000 miles away. So, Karina, what Jimmy and I wanted to do for you, we just wanted to thank you and your husband for your service and your sacrifice.”
Unbeknownst to Kabalan, though, her husband had snuck into the room and was now standing right behind her. Perhaps needless to say, but when the producer turned around, her tears became full-on sobs. An adorable group hug with Johnson and Fallon followed.
Hours after the taping, Kabalan tweeted, “Karina Kabalan Retweeted Fallon TonightWow! @ToddKabalan & I are still in shock! Feeling so blessed. I love my #fallonfam! Thank you @FallonTonight @jimmyfallon and @TheRock.” Johnson replied on Saturday morning, “You’re so loved by all your co-workers Karina. Grateful to have been a part of this.”
Fallon also wrote on Twitter, “I can’t believe we pulled that off. I lost it.” Johnson said in response, “It’s why you’re the best in the business. You’re a good man brother. Way to give back. Luv ya man.” Check out the full video below!
