Jimmy Fallon NOT Drinking “Out Of Control,” Despite Report
Jimmy Fallon’s “boozing” is not “out of control” nor is NBC worried, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can correct this inaccurate claim about him having a drinking problem. We’re told it’s “BS.”
According to the New York Post, “Fallon was warned to cut back on his boozing by NBC chiefs.” The tabloid quotes a so-called “NBC insider” as saying, “There were fears that Fallon was out of control and something could happen while he’s out drinking.” The alleged source adds, “Things got so serious at one stage that execs feared that Jimmy was splitting up with his wife over his drinking, but they patched things up.”
The paper then refers to an incident in which Fallon nearly lost his finger from ring avulsion when he tripped and his wedding band got caught on a table; another time the ‘Tonight Show” host chipped his tooth; and the time he cut his hand on a bottle of Jagermeister while up at Harvard. The tabloid further alleges he was “very drunk” and “alone” at a club in September. And while the first two accidents most assuredly did not involve alcohol, the outlet still quotes its supposed “source” claiming that Fallon is a “heavy drinker,” who’s now begun to “cut back.”
NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt tells the Post, “Any suggestion that we have concerns about [Fallon’s] behavior or have given him any kind of ‘warning’ is completely false.” Additionally, a mutual friend of Gossip Cop and the “Tonight Show” host assures us the tabloid’s allegations about his drinking being “out-of-control” is “BS.” And for clarification, as Gossip Cop previously reported, Fallon never had marriage problems. Also, as opposed to the paper’s account, Fallon was not “alone” and “very drunk” at a bar in September. He was actually just hanging out late with friends after one of the presidential debates.
