Jim Carrey SNL Monologue

Jim Carrey came out for his “SNL” monologue in a red Elvis Presley-like suit with devil horns, noting that he likes Halloween because “it’s the only day of the year “I fit in.” Carrey said his costume was a hybrid that he calls “Helvis.”

He then sang a song like Elvis, backed by “SNL” cast members, about how the King loved eating pecan pie.

This is the third time Carrey has hosted “SNL.” He previously hosted in 1996 with musical guest Soundgarden, and again in 2011, along with musical guest The Black Keys. Of course, he has a long history with sketch comedy, having first made a name for himself as a standout on the show, “In Living Color.”

Carrey’s hosting duties, of course, come just three weeks before the release of his film Dumb and Dumber To, with Jeff Daniels. The film is a sequel to the original hit Dumb and Dumber, which came out nearly 20 years ago in 1995. Back in June, Carrey and Daniels debuted the first trailer for Dumb and Dumber To.
