WATCH: Demi Lovato Moved to Tears By Bullying Victim Jillian Jensen on X Factor

VIDEO

(YouTube)

Demi Lovato found a kindred spirit in contestant Jillian Jensen on “The X Factor” premiere on Wednesday.

Jensen revealed that, like Lovato, she was “severely bullied” as a kid, and even has a similar “Stay Strong” tattoo.

The 19-year-old went on to sing a haunting rendition of Jessie J‘s “Who You Are” that brought Lovato to tears.

Jensen herself broke down as well, overwhelmed by the audience’s reaction.

And as if that wasn’t moving enough, Lovato went on stage to hug and comfort the extremely emotional singer.

“It’s okay,” Lovato told her. “I know exactly what you’re going through. But I made it through it, and I know you can.”

Lovato’s fellow judges were similarly moved by Jensen’s “incredible” performance, and all four gave her a resounding “yes.”

I get a little suspicious of these “I was bullied” people. All I got from it was that people made fun of her songs. She had a huge support group there. I don’t go on about my history with bullying, but, if I had gone to that audition, I would have had to go alone.

@twitter-383005265:disqus I agree with you. You know what I’m sick of everyone and their mother have being bullied. It just seems like everyone has jumped on the band wagon and is a victim now a days. It’s called getting a back bone and I’m not saying extreme cases of bullying haven’t happened but people now are too sensitive. As for this girl, her story is touching but her voice isn’t that great IMO. I doubt she will win this competition and as much as every one wants to rally behind her, its more because of her bully story than her actual talent. I give this girl credit for singing on stage and putting herself out there, (she reminds me of Lana) that takes some courage and I admire her for that. I couldn’t get up on stage and sing in front of millions, I wish her luck in life love and career. I’m sure even if she doesn’t win the competition there will be offers for her to sing with a record label.

I too was bullied in grade school, Jr.high, and part of high school. I sure did not like it. I am 52 now and Jesus tells me through the gifts of the spirit that “He will take care of those people in my school life.” Jillian Jensen should comitt her life to Jesus Christ. Read the Bible Jillian, Jesus Loves You and so so we Christians.

So true!!! I know who she is but I completely agree. I was also bullied but there are people in way worse circumstances who have no family, no home, no support.

I grew up with Demi. We went to the same elementary and middle school in Grapevine, TX. There have been little stories here and there from those that went to school with her but they have quickly been hushed. She was one of the nastiest girls I’ve ever come across. She and my best friend both had big personalities and often competed in choir. The things Demi would say to her and the way she put her down were disgusting she made her cry so many times. She was the classic locker room bully. It makes me sick every time I hear of her “anti-bullying” campaign. The reason she dropped out was because eventually she lost her group of followers as they realized what she was like and got sick the constant drama she caused. Good for her for making it big, more power to her. But these bullying claims are so hypocritical I don’t understand how someone could be so ugly inside. Her true colors will come out at some point or another. In the end, you are who you are and eventually the makeup will wear off.

Regardless of if you really went to school with her or not, you can’t really base someone’s personality as an adult on how they were as a young child–particularly a “child star”, who are often emotionally and mentally tortured. Whether she was indeed the bully or was a victim of bullying, she is doing good for people and you sound like a big ole HATER…get over it…people grow up, I think it’s time you do as well.

Isn’t enough to sing with heartfelt emotion. Singing talent is necessary too. Her emotionality to me runs a fine line between raw emotion and too much feeling. Kind of like a 2012 version of Johnny Ray. The Prince of Wails. LOL wonder how many know who he i’m referring too. I too think bullying is horrible The fact Jillian Jenson was capable of performing in front of such touch judged and a live audience reflects to me her stamina.

I believe Jillian Jensen is in a girl band called “The Varsity Girls”. They performed for Obama.
