Proof Jessica Szohr Didn’t Blow Off Lollapalooza Event

Several media outlets are claiming that party planners are upset with “Gossip Girl” star Jessica Szohr for bailing on an event in Chicago, where she was flown for an all-expenses paid weekend at the Hard Rock Hotel during the Lollapalooza festival.
According to reports, in exchange for the freebie weekend, all Szohr had to do was show up to a Belvedere Nights party. She’s now being attacked for not attending the event in favor of spending some alone time with on-and-off beau Ed Westwick.
However, Gossip Cop has exclusively obtained an e-mail sent by a party planner inviting Szohr to Chicago, and not once does it request that she attend any events whatsoever.
The e-mail asks Szohr if she and a guest have “any interest in going to Lollapalooza” since there is “a budget to fly people out, put them up for the weekend, get them VIP tickets etc…”
That’s it.
No mention of the Belvedere event – or any other.
In fact, it was news to Szohr and her team that her participation was expected. It’s not entirely out of the ordinary for celebrities to be offered trips, no strings attached, as promoters seek to be linked with stars.
At the end of the day, we’re told Szohr ended up picking up her own tab without any arguments.
Sounds like the weekend was far tamer than an episode of “Gossip Girl.”
