Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson are “hoping to walk down the aisle this Christmas,” reports HollywoodLife.

According to the site, Simpson is scrambling to have her ceremony before ex-husband Nick Lachey has his.

A so-called “source” claims, “She doesn’t want her wedding to be the aftermath of his. And, it will be big and elaborate. She’ll spare no expensive [sic] for fear that Nick and [Vanessa Minnillo] will out do her.”

Of course, “She knows that is is going to be tough to pull everything together on such short notice,” says the site’s source, “so it might have to be a New Years wedding.”

Here’s an early resolution suggestion for HollywoodLife: Start reporting well.

A source close to the situation tells Gossip Cop, “There’s no wedding date planned,” and assures us that it won’t be pulled together by the holidays.
