Jessica Simpson “Taking Legal Action” Against Star For Claiming Fiance “Cheats”

Jessica Simpson has had enough of Star, which claims on its cover this week that her fiancé Eric Johnson “cheats” on her.

According to the tabloid, Johnson was “caught” messing around with his ex-wife Keri.

As Gossip Cop reported earlier, the mag says Johnson was “sleeping with both” Simpson and Keri at the same time, and “he’ll most likely do it again.”

But more importantly, and we exclusively noted, the Star story is completely untrue.

Now, a Simpson insider tells us that she and Johnson are “taking legal action” because they have “had enough of this tabloid defaming them.”

As Gossip Cop previously noted, Star has been repeatedly wrong about Simpson and Johnson’s relationship, falsely claiming last December that her dad Joe was demanding a “shotgun wedding;” inaccurately alleging that her mom Tina was warring with Johnson over the couple’s baby Maxwell; pushing a bogus “diet disaster” narrative for weeks; and publishing an untrue report about Simpson allegedly telling everyone about her “X-rated romps” with Johnson.

The magazine also recently fabricated new pregnancy rumors about Simpson.

Gossip Cop reached out to an attorney for Star who only offered, “No comment.”

Earlier on Wednesday, the tabloid issued an apology to Nicolas Cage after wrongly claiming he “stalked” Vanessa Hudgens, his co-star in The Frozen Ground.

    When they did that to Eric, they did the wrong thing because he has a great source of attorneys. He comes out of a family of attorneys. That “dumb” tabloid doesn’t know who they are messing with. Jess has told the tabloids that she is tired of them, that she wants a cut. They were persistent with their crap. I have been praying to God that something needs to put a stop to it. “Thank you Jesus.” If they got that from anybody, it would be Haters. I hope that they make them turn their names in, if there is any.

    Yes, “Star” and other tabs do not know that Eric’s mom is a partner of a big prestigious law firm. The tabs do not know who they are messing with. Well said!

    Star has so many tales out about Jess until I have never seen them hate somebody any more than they do Jess. It’s as if they are daring her to file a lawsuit. Somebody there at Star has some kind of Jessica Simpson problem. I have never seen them hate on any other celeb the way they hate on her. She is a very nice person and doesn’t deserve what they have been doing to her. They hate on her every week. There is definitely some problem there at American Media, Inc.

    Eric isn’t the only one with lawyers in the family. Jessica has a couple uncles also. Its taken a long time to come to this but good for them

    Good for them! More celebs should do this and shut down some other tabloids that strive to print false, and often malicious, stories. Now if only Robsten would sue. They wouldn’t have to work ever again because they’d win every suit.

    If you can read, you will see that it is all aimed at Jess. It’s a defamation of both that a lot of history of defaming has accrued. The people at American Media, Inc are going crazy! You know darn well that they have been on Jess’ back for a long time. The dumb question you asked, seems as if you are not up with what American Media, Inc. has been doing to her. If I were her, I would sue the whole corporation because when one stops the other starts.
