Jessica Simpson Stormed Out On Husband Eric Johnson?
Jessica Simpson did not storm out of a party in Los Angeles, leaving Eric Johnson behind, despite a new report in this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this story. A source assures us the claim is “ridiculous.”
According to Star, Simpson bolted out of Linda Perry’s party on January 5, leaving her husband “in the dust.” A so-called “spy” tells the tabloid, “They hardly said a word to each other all night. It was clear they weren’t getting along.” The same supposed source claims, “On the way out, Eric reached for Jessica’s hand, but she kept it planted in her pocket until the valet arrived.”
The magazine then alleges Simpson is having a difficult time trying to “balance motherhood and a billion-dollar brand” while Johnson just “sits at home.” “Jessica honestly doesn’t know what Eric does all day,” says someone the tabloid calls a “pal,” adding, “She’s grown resentful, and she’s not even bothering to hide it anymore.”
Here’s what’s true about the magazine’s story: Both Simpson and Johnson went to Perry’s bash. Here’s what’s not true about the magazine’s story: Everything else.
For starters, a mutual friend of Gossip Cop and Simpson’s tells us “they had the best night” at the party. Gossip Cop also checked in with another Simpson insider to see if the other claims were true, and we were assured the tabloid’s tale of strife between her and Johnson is utterly “ridiculous.”
Of course, Gossip Cop is sadly not surprised by the falsity of the magazine’s report. A little more than a year ago, when Simpson and Johnson had only been married for four months, Star published a bogus cover story claiming they were “separating” after a fight. And a few months ago, the tabloid wrongly reported in another cover story that the couple had a “fight to end all fights,” with Simpson having “punched” her husband in the face. Much like those past claims, the current one is also 100 percent untrue. It may be time for the outlet to find better Simpson sources.
