Jessica Simpson’s family and friends are NOT urging her to check into rehab, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this rumor, which began in one of the tabloids. We’re told by a source close to Simpson the report is “not true.”

According to Star, Simpson’s friends and family are worried because she’s allegedly dependent on Adderall. The tabloid claims the singer and fashion designer is using the drug to help keep her weight down. A so-called source is then quoted telling the magazine, “Jessica has become obsessed with keeping off the pregnancy weight she gained with her son, Ace.”

The tabloid further alleges Simpson’s close relatives and pals are also concerned about her having a drinking problem, claiming the singer “can’t have just one glass” and that she leaps at “any excuse to crack open the vodka bottle.” Supposedly, Simpson’s alleged Adderall problem combined with her (unsubstantiated) heavy drinking has left those closest to her extremely worried, says the tabloid. Star’s so-called “source” adds that Simpson’s husband, Eric Johnson, now thinks “all the people telling him to get her into rehab could be right.”

Gossip Cop has busted false reports about Simpson supposedly having a drug and alcohol problem over and over. The fact that it’s repeated (or that Simpson has yet to sue outlets) does not make it true.

Just a few months ago, Gossip Cop debunked a manufactured report by Star that claimed Simpson and her husband had a “drunken” fight outside the Chateau Marmot hotel in L.A.. The supposed brawl never happened. The latest story about loved ones urging Simpson to go to rehab is similarly wrong. A Simpson confidante tells Gossip Cop exclusively it’s “absolutely, positively not true.”
