MAG: Jessica Simpson Wedding “On Hold” Because Eric Johnson Refuses Prenup

“Jessica Simpson Pregnant & Betrayed” reads the cover of OK! magazine, which claims Eric Johnson is refusing to marry her unless she throws out their prenuptial agreement.

The mag says Johnson “had agreed to a prenuptial agreement,” but is now “backing out and insisting on an equal share of her fortune.”

According to a so-called “source” for the tab, “Eric knows how important it was to her to be married before the baby was born. She wanted to rush to wedding so that her child wouldn’t be born out of wedlock, and she wouldn’t walk down the aisle with a massive bump.”

“He’s basically using that as a bargaining chip,” alleges the purported insider.

Simpson is considering giving into Johnson’s supposed demands, says OK!, because she’s “a softy at heart” and “doesn’t want to mess up the relationship with Eric.”

Actually, it’s the reporting at OK! that’s soft.

While it’s true the couple drafted a prenup, as Gossip Cop has reported from day one, Simpson and Johnson never had a wedding date set, and so there’s no marriage ceremony from which Johnson is “backing out.”

We’re told both sides are — and have been — on the same page when it comes to the prenup.

A source close to Simpson further tells us, “There was never a wedding date officially set, and now they have decided to put the planning on hold until the baby is here.”

    Oh so glad you set this straight. Who cares. These days as we have seen in the last week does that piece of paper mean much. I say if there happy & commited good for them. Both should make wonderful parents. I honestly don’t understand the attacks on Jessica & I really don’t understand all the garbage written about ERIC either. He has to be very strong to wether the crap that is written about him on a personal level. Its great because he really seems to be as grounded as Jessica says he is. He is not into celebrity at all but supports Jessica.

    This is why Jessica Simpson is so soft-hearted, however, at best, the logic displayed by her father JOE protective of her Mega Millions Fashion Empire is logical at best. She is his daughter and he loves her and will protect the interests of his grandchildren, too.
    There are a lot of guys out there who will marry for $$ (Money, First) since their women they pick are so much more famous and fortunate than they themselves are. Jessica can afford to be single and raise her children too. Jessica Simpson is a legend by now, rich, famous and in the public eye; again, ERIC may be another of those Dream Land Weddings that sizzle to fizzle once the wedding and babies appear. He wants and expects things his way and not the “Family’s Way!” It’s out of Her Daddy Control this time! Will Marriage resolve this issue or not! We want to see these Wedding Vows spoken seriously and followed through!

    You don’t have to have a wedding date set to argue the fact that he won’t walk down the aisle unless there is a prenup…duh!
