“Jessica’s Diet Disaster!” blares a cover from Star, which claims Jessica Simpson has been “stuck at 178 lbs” since the birth of her baby boy, Ace Knute.

The magazine, which ran the same exact “Diet Disaster” headline after Simpson welcomed her daughter Maxwell in 2012 (see below), alleges the star “fears her surplus size could do irreparable damage to her career” and send fiancé Eric Johnson “off to slimmer pastures.”

Right.

Star says that “making matters worse,” Simpson is constantly “reading about other celebrities’ weight-loss struggles online.”

Yes, because all stars spend their days reading gossip blogs about other celebrities.

Anyway, a so-called “source” for the tab alleges, “Jessica is obsessed with Kim Kardashian,” supposedly because “she knows they will be compared because of their similar body types and delivery dates.”

The purported “insider” further claims, “Jessica doesn’t want to look like an Oompa Loompa while Kim bounces back into shape.”

“Unfortunately, her obsession with Kim leaves her less time to work out,” adds the magazine’s “source.”

Wow, we can’t even decide on what the most ridiculous part of that statement is.

Of course, this story is just as bogus as the tabloid’s previous blather about Simpson’s supposed weight loss struggles.

Oh, and we should probably mention the fact that the star said she was taking legal action against the publication last fall for falsely reporting that Johnson was having an affair.

Regardless, Gossip Cop reached out to a Simpson insider, who tells us the tab’s tale is “ludicrous,” adding, “She is feeling great and already back working out.”
