“Jessica Simpson Had Another Night Out With Gerard Butler!” screams a story in HollywoodLife, which tends to substitute photos for reporting.

The post claims they “dined together AGAIN at Boa Steakhouse in Santa Monica Saturday night!” and asks, “Was a night at Boa’s Steakhouse date number two for Jessica & Gerard?”

Back in October the two had dinner together in New York, which led to a slew of (inaccurate) gossip.

This time, HollywoodLife exclaims, the “duo went out together again!” and wonders, “So what’s the deal?”

Once again, HollywoodLife asks questions, but Gossip Cop answers them.

For one, the “duo” did not dine a deux. They were with a group, including their mutual friend, makeup artist Jeannia Robinette.

But to answer HollywoodLife’s question: “the deal” is they are just friends, and this was, most assuredly, not “date number two.”
