Jessica Simpson “Drunk And Disorderly”?
The OK! piece in question is titled “Drunk & Disorderly,” and says a “bleary-eyed” Simpson had “overdone it again” during a date night with Johnson earlier this month. A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “She and Eric have been hitting the bottle hard when they go out. Jess thinks nothing of having an entire bottle of champagne by herself.”
“She has effectively replaced food with alcohol,” the supposed snitch goes on to allege. “It’s become a serious problem that she needs to address.” OK! blames Simpson’s drinking on “pressure to be the breadwinner for their family,” but doesn’t explain how she manages to successfully run a billion-dollar fashion company if she’s boozing all the time.
Still, the alleged tipster claims, “Her friends are very worried about her and frustrated that Eric enables it. If things are as bad as they look, rehab might be the only option to get her back on track.” So, to recap, this “source” first says Simpson has a “serious problem she needs to address,” but then isn’t sure if things are actually “as bad as they look.”
Of course, a real person close to Simpson wouldn’t be talking to OK! anyway. This the same outlet that falsely said she and Johnson were going to have a Valentine’s Day wedding, wrongly claimed she was planning a breast reduction, and absurdly accused her of being a “cheapskate.” The magazine also body-shamed the star in 2014 for looking “unfeminine.”
It was also in 2014 that OK! said Simpson was “replacing her food with alcohol,” a claim repeated above. And yet all this time has passed between the two stories, and Simpson continues to do just fine. The same, however, can’t be said for the tabloid’s reporting.
