Jessica Simpson in Talks to Become ‘American Idol’ Judge

Jessica Simpson has met with “American Idol” producers about becoming a judge, Gossip Cop can confirm.

A rep for Simpson tells Gossip Cop the singer and “Idol” executives have spoken about the job, and that “she likes them and they like her.”

While the two sides have met, we’re told, “they are not at the negotiating stage yet.”

The top-rated series on television is in upheaval with the departure of Simon Cowell from the judging panel. Rampant speculation about who might fill his spot has included names like Justin Timberlake and Elton John (though those rumors have been incorrect).

Life & Style was the first to report the Simpson story.

    Whoa! I am really “SURPRISED” that she would do this. I know that she has supplied American Idol with supplies from her line of clothing. She will most certainly draw me in for watching American Idol, which I have had a strong dislike for. I am “struck”.

    I think Jess could add a lot.. She knows how to handle critics & haters for a start & what its like to be on top & fall in the music industry.. It would also show many she is not dumb. She is also very kind hearted.. Thsi could be a veyr good thing..

    So Life & Style was the 1st to report the story. But by it being a tabloid there is something probably exaggerated in the story. We have to keep in mind what a tabloid is. That is why we need Gossip Cop to get the truth out there. If Gossip Cop hadn’t said something, then I never would have believed it on Life & Style’s word alone. Thanks Gossip Cop for reporting an accomplishment of Jessica Simpson, instead of just having to correct a tabloid.
