Jessa Duggar And Ben Seewald Thank Fans For Prayers Amid Molestation Scandal
As Gossip Cop reported, Josh apologized last month for molesting five girls when he was a teenager. It was later revealed that the victims were four of his sisters, including Jessa, and a babysitter. There’s been an intense backlash against the famous clan, leading TLC to pull their series “19 Kids and Counting” from the schedule.
Jessa, however, has defended her brother, and a number of fans are sticking by the Duggars, leading Jessa and Ben to express their gratitude in a new blog post called “Grateful and Blessed.” “We want to pause a moment and thank all of you who have been lifting us up in prayer,” the couple wrote. “We are so grateful and blessed!” They continued, “Our little family is, by God’s grace, going to continue seeking to lovingly point people to Christ and encourage those who are down. God’s goodness and kindness to us even in difficult times is humbling and wonderful!”
As Gossip Cop has reported, the Seewalds are currently expecting their first child, and they write that “Baby Seewald is growing steadily and Mommy has been feeling some little, yet strong, kicks!” The reality stars further noted, “We recently had an ultrasound, but aren’t revealing our firstborn’s gender yet. Can’t wait to welcome this blessing from God into the world!”
The post concluded with a Bible verse:
“Therefore seeing we also are surrounded with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily ensnare us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” -Hebrews 12:1-2
The message was the Seewalds’ first blog post since before the scandal erupted in late May. As Gossip Cop noted earlier this week, the Duggars have slowly been returning to social media in the wake of the controversy, with Josh posting his first tweet and Facebook message on Monday. And Ben’s father, Michael Seewald, has also posted a lengthy blog standing up for the family. There is still no decision, however, on the fate of their show. What do you think of Jessa and Ben thanking fans for their prayers?
