“Jersey Shore” Getting a New Cast?

“Jersey Shore” will replace its original cast at the end of Season 5, according to multiple reports.

MTV is said to want new, less expensive talent for its enormous hit.

Snooki, The Situation, Pauly D and the rest of the gang repeatedly negotiated for – and got – higher salaries as the show became a television phenomenon, meaning the network now shells out a lot of cash for the stars.

Season 4, shot in Italy, is slated to begin in August.

The crew has since returned to where it all began – Seaside Heights, NJ – for Season 5, which may be their last hurrah.

That said, many of the current cast members have already scored spinoff series that will keep them at MTV in the future.

Despite strong buzzing about a possible new cast — which could also be a negotiating tactic – MTV tells Gossip Cop: “We love the present cast, and their summer adventures have just begun. We currently have no plans to recast the show.”

    These kids aren’t going anywhere. Most of them already have signed to do their own shows with MTV, forcing the viewing public to accept another group of degenerate drunks vying to be famous as they compete with each other to see who can be the most promiscuous. Just sad.

    Honestly, no. As with many people, Jersey Shore is a huge guilty pleasure for me. I like the current cast and I don’t think the show will work as well with a new one.

    I’m up for a new cast… But not an entire new cast… Just replace some (like they did with Angelina) … Get rid of Ronnie and Sam and get two new people to replace them…. This would mean no more of that Sam/Ron ignorant drama (which is beyond annoying)

    i love jersey shore and its the only reason i watch mtv becasue it is the best show on these days and if you take away snooki, jwoww,sammi,ronnie,pauly,mike,or vinny then you may as well just throw a millon dollars out the window because i knwo me and my family wont watch it becasue we have all grown to love the original cast and no one else can take their place it would be a horrible mistake becasue the show would just get zeroooo ratings and be canceled. stick to what you got becasue it works and people love it i cant go without t shirt time or cabs r here ir even the lil meatballs. KEEP THE ORIGINALS BECASUE THEY ARE AWWWWWSOOOOMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

    The ratings for the new cast will be hugh. Jersey Shore pushed the seasons to the limit. Give it a rest. The only true potentials after MTV are Mike and maybe Pauly. Who knows, the next cast might be even bigger. Change is good.

    don’t get me wrong. i like this cast and all but i think everybody can agree that these past 3 seasons have been the same old thing. i think it would be better if everyone was single as partying like in season 1. i kinda think it would be cool if they kept some of their cast and added some new ones to replace mike, sammi, and ronnie. even though I’ve met ronnie before, he is getting kind of old…

    I think you should Keep them. I get so excited when Ik Jersey Shore is going to be on. I will not watch it if there is a new cast. It just would not be the same. They are all a family.     The current cast needs to stay because the show will Not be the same without them. I have grown to love this show and I am looking forward to many other seasons with them. I don’t think that anything will be the same with a new cast even if it’s just a couple new people, it just won’t be the same without the whole group. Keep Jersey Shore with the current cast or I won’t feel the same about watching the show again.
