“Jersey Shore” Ibiza Rumor Goes “Poof”

Yesterday Gossip Cop reported that the wave of speculation about where “Jersey Shore” might wind up for Season 2 was premature. The hit series’ well-coiffed cast, after all, just signed on to return, and discussions about where (and when) to film are only beginning.
Try explaining that to Hollyscoop.
“Jersey Shore Moving to Ibiza,” claims a headline on the site.
Um, what?
Building on rumors from this morning suggesting producers will look overseas for possible Season 2 locales, Hollyscoop takes a Snooki tweet (“I want to live in Ibiza”) and a subsequent tweet (allegedly) from “Jersey Shore’s Twitter account” (“What do you think about Jersey Shore in Ibiza?”), and makes it look as if Ibiza talk has become a real possibility. It isn’t.
The story claims the two tweets are “adding fuel to the fire.”
But there is no fire.
Hollyscoop practically asked for a Gossip Cop intervention when they ran this story, and here it is.
“Jersey Shore” is not going to Ibiza.
A high-level MTV executive tells Gossip Cop it’s not even in the mix.
So extinguish that Jersey-meets-Ibiza “fire.”
