Prince William and Duchess Kate have dropped cowboy cute for California cool, showing up in Santa Monica this afternoon for The Foundation Polo Challenge.

The royal couple arrived via helicopter and then walked the red carpet.

Kate and other guests will dine on Giada De Laurentiis‘ special menu while William participates in the polo match for charity.

Other celebs in attendance include: Joe Jonas, Zoe Saldana, Rob Lowe, Molly Sims and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

For the event, Kate is wearing a silver and marble gray hand-painted chinoiserie silk dress by designer Jenny Packham.
