Jenny McCarthy & Sherri Shepherd Give Emotional Goodbyes on The View (VIDEO)
For their final live taping, the two were joined by guest hosts Ginger Zee from “Good Morning America” and author Suzy Welch, although moderator Whoopi Goldberg did not appear on the episode.
“All I can say is wow, I am so grateful,” McCarthy said of her year on the show.
She noted, “Of course I learned from my mentor Barbara Walters and also my dear friend Sherri Shepherd. But I also learned from our amazing team behind the scenes.”
The former Playmate then addressed the show’s longtime executive producer Bill Geddie.
It was reported on Wednesday that he too is exiting the show and will be replaced by “Rachel Maddow Show” executive producer Bill Wolff.
“Bill Geddie there really are no words,” said McCarthy. “Working with you I can now say I’ve worked with the best in the business.”
“And to the incredibly hard working producers and crew, you’ve all taught me so much, you’ve been a shining example of professionalism, humility and class each and every day,” she continued. “You are all the real reason this show has been a staple for 17 years.”
After a montage of McCarthy’s favorite moments on the show, Shepherd shared that her blonde co-host is “one of the nicest people to work with in this business.”
She also spoke highly of Geddie, saying, “Bill recognized the need for a show for women, for us to be able to talk about us without interference.”
McCarthy and Shepherd will still appear on Friday and Monday’s pre-taped episodes.
