Marc Anthony “Isn’t Happy” with Jennifer Lopez’s Body?
The tabloid finds a way of turning Lopez’s striking figure against her, citing a “source” who claims Anthony is upset about her recent 10-pound weight loss and “doesn’t want her to turn into one of those super-skinny Hollywood types.” Supposedly, the “American Idol” judge’s “leaner body” and reinvigorated career are “bothering” Anthony, who allegedly wishes she would take care of their children at home, “thereby ceding the spotlight to him.”
“Jennifer’s lost weight since she started on Idol because she no longer has time to cook or go out to dinner with Marc,” explains the so-called “source.” “Now, he’s gone from calling her ‘one sexy mama,’ to telling her that she better ‘put down the dumbbells and pick up a donut.'” Sigh.
All of this nonsense is especially silly given that other places are (wrongly) claiming this week that Lopez looks like she has a “baby bump.” In other words, her body seems to “be” whatever an outlet wants it to be – at that particular moment. A rep calls the entire In Touch story “ridiculous.”
Gossip Cop will go a step further and suggest that In Touch‘s insistence on turning every few pounds gained or lost by a celebrity into a story is somewhat offensive, given the very real psychological damage that can be attached to issues of body image. Lopez looks happy and healthy, with a successful career and family. It’s a shame the tabloids can’t find enough material with that.
