Gossip Cop has been given these four EXCLUSIVE pictures from Jennifer Lopez’s big 4-0 in New York.

As you all know, Marc Anthony surprised his wife for her 40^th with a party at the Hotel Edison Ballroom, where friends like Liza Minnelli, Leah Remini, Alicia Keys, and Ricky Martin came out to celebrate the birthday girl.

Gossip Cop’s cameras had the happy couple pose outside the party, where a marquee read, “An Evening for Lola,” which is Anthony’s nickname for his wife.

We also received a few exclusive snaps from inside. But one thing Gossip Cop was curious about was how is it possible – if the party was a surprise – that Jennifer first wore a white Roberto Cavalli gown and then had a black Cavalli dress to change into?

Simple: Anthony had arranged the party with Lopez’s assistant and stylist, among others, so they had a second (back-up) dress available, which Gossip Cop has also learned is how Lopez generally rolls.
