Jennifer Lopez: “I Haven’t Decided” If I’m Leaving American Idol

Don’t start speculating on Jennifer Lopez‘s replacement just yet.

Contrary to reports, the “American Idol” judge says she doesn’t know whether she will leave the show after the current season.

“There is no truth to reports that say I am definitely leaving ‘Idol,’” Lopez tweeted Thursday night, hours after the show’s final two contestants were revealed.

The singer, who was just named the most powerful celebrity in the world, went on to clarify, “All I said was I haven’t decided what I am doing next year.”

“When I know for sure what I’m doing I will let the #LOVE!RS know,” she added.

Do you want Lopez to stay on “American Idol”?

    She needs to go.

she have to stay .she is the biggest reason to watch the show for many of people. she is a very good singer and experienced .so she can judge very well because she is so Sympathetic and she does what she thinks is good for the singers but others just just think what is good for theme self to be liked on the panel . she does her work very well and also she is liked and lovely and talented.

I’ll do it for 5 millions and save them some money!!! I am funnier than Randy Jackson, and I am a classically trained singer and musician. I will throw down with Randy for his job! Let’s go!!!

She’s dumb if she leaves, she’s not going to get another gig anywhere else. If she were smart, she’d stay ’til they booted her, or the show entirely.

  • Regina1180

    She’s not going anywhere.

Agree. Her ego will not allow herself to make less than Spears. If her $15 mil had not been so highly publicized, this would all be a moot point.

Randy and JLo are just a bunch of praisers – you need people like Iovine to do the biting, hence his portion on AI. Why can’t any of these 3 overpaid judges just bite the nail and be blunt about it?

Y’all are forgetting one major thing: she hasn’t been offered a contract to remain.

  • Ss Ioannidis

The show’s ratings are not dependent on her at all. Reality is she is easily replaced by any number of D-List Celebrities – she hasnt had anything major or successful in years. The only reason that this show pays so much is because it makes so much. That has nothing to do with Lopez

Which is why she put it out there that she might leave first. The Brits that run these show’s are notoriously nasty, and quite stupid when it comes to these panel judge shows, see cowell, Simon. It could be, she was worried that they would replace her. The most important thing to remember is that boring talent in a given year will make for a bad low rated show, no matter how good or bad the panel judges on air are. However, great talent, like this year’s idol, AND A great panel, which I think j.lo. Randy and Stephen are, will push the entire show to the next level and give it ginormous ratings. They’d be fools to ditch j.lo, and not give her what she wants. The people that ended up on the show, is talent she had a hand in picking. She deserves some credit. Conversely, Simon cowell hiring Britney ‘y’all Spears and demi lovato (huh?) trying to ‘fix’ the X-Factor is laughable. Spears, when not stripping and dancing, is not a compelling person to watch sit in a chair and try to talk. She’s a bore. It was true when she was 21, so of course it’s even truer 10 years later. In other words, YAWN. Similarly, Lovato, whom more people know because of her recent rehab stint, is similarly afflicted..she was a supporting player on a kid show, and now she’s a lackluster performer, in other words WHO CARES? The point, is that cowell put on an awful stagey bit if fakery with the x-factor. At the outset when he engaged in that fraudulent bit of theater with Melanie Amaro he lost half his audience. No one believed he’d take one of the bigger talents and send her packing before the show even got rolling, and then the surprise visit to her home…Amaro had to be in on it, because if she wasn’t in on the fakery, that was just cruel to do to her for ratings – and it would be yet another good reason not to watch x-factor. Add to that the overblown Vegas like huge stage show productions with garish effects and 101 dancers flitting about on every number, and you realize these artists, save one or two, the rappers, didn’t know who they wanted to be, and you got the feeling even if they did, Simon would have overruled their ideas. American idol this year was the best talent show on air, the talent, though young, knew who they were, what they wanted, and you could easily see their career paths by watching them perform. I have no doubt the top 5 will have amazing careers. Idol let them be, their performances were scaled down, intimate, and jaw dropping. The judges had an eye for talent. Simon cowell could learn something from his old show. I won’t be watching his new one. I felt lied to and manipulated by that big cheesy production, and then, remarkably, the only grounding, down to earth believable thing he had going, Paula and Nicole, the only females, he gives the boot to. Replacing them with younger, infinitely more boring models. Boooooooooooooo Simon, Boooooo!! Oh, and Idol better bring J.Lo back.

You need to shut up, fool. J.lo helped pick the amazing talent, and is an excellent judge.

Please stay. She has the experience to tell these people how to improve. She has been turned down before and knows what she is talking about. So what if she’s not Simon Cowell? Maybe she doesnt feel comfortable being harsh like that to people, I know I am. It might make her feel bad to be rude to people and tell them they suck. Give her a break

Honestly couldnt have said it better myself. Jen has the experience and 55 million albums dont lie. Britney is the queen of autotune, and while Demi CAN sing, i think she is just too young for that. What if she gets the over 30s? SHE’s going to be telling them what to do to improve? I gave X factor a shot last season (partly because I was interested to see Simon and Paula’s chemistry after seeing them on Idol!), but I definitely won’t be watching this seas. Jen better stay with Idol, I hope things work out! I love her as a singer, dancer, actress, judge, mother, and overall person. I think she brings a lot to the show
