Jennifer Lopez Slow Dances With American Idol Contestant As He Serenades Her (VIDEO)
Jennifer Lopez made one “American Idol” hopeful’s day when she agreed to slow dance with Michael Simeon during his audition. The surprising moment, both a tad sweet and a tad creepy, is featured in a sneak peek of the upcoming 14th season.
After trying out for the FOX music competition in Nashville, Simeon asked Lopez to dance, and the star actually agreed. She held him tight and rested her head on his shoulder as he serenaded her with Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me.” Fellow judges Harry Connick, Jr. and Keith Urban even accompanied them on piano and guitar. Aww!
“American Idol” is currently filming its auditions in various cities across the United States, in which aspiring singers appear before the panel in hopes of winning a golden ticket to Hollywood Week. The episodes won’t air, however, until January 2015, with Simeon on the January 7 premiere.
This marks Lopez’s fourth season on the show, and her second with Connick and Urban beside her. As Gossip Cop reported, they joined the returning judge for the first time in season 13, a season that, while down in the ratings, received high praise for the panel’s chemistry. Now they’re all returning for season 14.
