Jennifer Lopez Gets Restraining Order Against Alleged Stalker
Jennifer Lopez has obtained a restraining order against an alleged stalker, Gossip Cop confirms.
Fearing for her family’s safety, the superstar successfully petitioned for a stay-away order after filing legal documents about the alleged behavior of a man named Timothy McLanahan. According to Lopez, he has been sending her flowers and letters, in addition to following her around the country. She specifically alleges McLanahan tracked her from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, where she has her “All I Have” residency at Planet Hollywood.
In another instance, Lopez claims McLanahan showed up at her Los Angeles home, leading to his arrest for trespassing. The “Shades of Blue” star’s legal filing also included a deposition from her bodyguard, who pointed out McLanahan’s alleged criminal past and transient status. Now the temporary restraining order, which was granted on Wednesday, requires him to stay at least yards away from Lopez and her 8-year-old twins, Max and Emme.
The news was first reported by TMZ. A rep for Lopez did not have any further details to offer. The singer-actress, unfortunately, is not the only celeb to have found herself in such an unwanted, scary situation lately. Over the last year, Kendall Jenner, George Clooney, Chris Brown and Lana Del Rey have all gone to court over allegedly obsessed fans.
